According to a close friend, Theonada had an argument with her husband before she left the restaurant.

“A few kilometres away, she was involved in an accident,” said the source. Theonada’s gogo, Ettie Slabbert, said the family is torn apart.

“It is hard to speak about her death.  All I can say is life won’t be the same without her. We have pastors at the house who are bringing us God’s comforting Word,” she said.

Her death has shocked many people in her kasi, where people described her as a lovely person who was always smiling and generous to those around her.

Khumalo told Daily Sun he did not want to comment. “I don’t want to speak to the media,” he said and ended the call.

A relative, Eugene Sinclair, posted on Instagram: “My sincere heartfelt condolences to my cousins and the rest of the Khumalo family on the passing of Theonada.

“It is not easy I know, but we must put our hope and trust in God. Her cousin, Bianca George, wrote: “I’m so sorry this happened to you. I wish I could turn back the hands of time to avoid this altogether.

“This is how I knew you. A brilliant smile and sparkly eyes.” She said she didn’t have the words to express her pain.

“It is so hard to believe someone as beautiful and bubbly as you is gone. May your soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the Slabbert and Khumalo family.  I wish you all the strength to get through this.” - Daily Sun
