Harare - We won’t write exams until Grace’s degree is revoked. These were the words of disgruntled students at the University of Zimbabwe.

The students from Zimbabwe’s university protested on Campus on Monday morning.

They were demanding that First Lady of Zimbabwe Grace Mugabe’s doctorate be recalled, and that long-standing president Robert Mugabe be removed from office.

“We won’t write examinations until he steps down and his wife’s degree is revoked,” a voice could be heard on the campus public address system.

Grace Mugabe Doctorate has Caused an Uproar

Grace Mugabe was awarded a PhD in Sociology in 2014. Her thesis has never been made public.

According to university records‚ she graduated three months after registration for a programme that normally takes at least three years to complete.

Zimbabwe was thrown into chaos after the military stormed the capital city, Harare, and took over the public broadcaster, detaining several ministers and putting Mugabe on house arrest. - Daily Sun
